Custom Walk In Bathtubs For People With Disabilities
People with a disability find it very difficult to do normal daily tasks which require their use of hands, arms or legs. This being said, bathing is also a challenge. They cannot enjoy the leisurely soak in a tub because the traditional bathtub requires effort. Good thing there are custom walk in bathtubs.
Walk in tubs are bathtubs to which the users can literally walk in. No need to balance yourself in order to get in or pull your leg up just to get inside. You just have to open the door and slide yourself inside. For old people and disabled persons, this is an easier way to enjoy a bath like as if in a Jacuzzi.
Why Customized?
1. People with a disability or the elderly will have a wonderful experience bathing in custom walk in bathtubs because they will have independence and freedom. Also, assistance from their nurses or care givers will be a positive experience. It will be easier to get in and out of the tub. The wheel chair can get inside the tub and then, the individual can conveniently transfer from the wheel chair to the 17 inch seat built-in on the tub. The doors are usually extra wide too.
2. The tub door can swing in or swing out. A “swing in” feature is most helpful for an elderly or disabled individual getting inside the tub. The “swing out” feature, on the other hand, is a quick access for getting out of the tub.
3. The door is sealed in tight on all custom walk in bathtubs. Once inside, there is no chance of leaking water. The user is assured of that. The guard rails on the sides also help with the sitting or with balancing while inside.
4. The great thing about personalizing your own tub is that you can adjust the size of your tub to fit your existing bathroom. You can get a small tub with a front opening. You can also opt for a monster tub with a side entrance. Either way, it is a personal preference.
5. A walk-in tub is a safer option. It is built with a non-slip surface because tens of thousands of Americans get hurt inside the bathroom particularly from moving inside the tub because of a slippery plane. Custom walk in bathtubs offer protection from slippage.
6. You can add a shower system in your tub since some people prefer a refreshing shower bath at times. At least, you will still have the comfort of sitting down while bathing. You can also ask for spa jets to be installed, as well. (Spa jets are responsible for providing the massage feature in a walk in tub.) You can also ask for power seats and backrest too. You can also have the temperature maintained accordingly; just add that feature.
Custom walk in bathtubs are comfortable to use. With modern innovations, features are being added to give more ease to the user, especially those with disabilities and those who are already old.

Country Bathroom Vanities Complete the Design of a Country Bathroom
Country bathroom vanities can be a central element of a bathroom whether decorated entirely in a country style or a blend of decorating styles. Country style bathrooms often mix a variety of design elements with furnishings, blending new pieces with older and antique elements. A rustic, handmade quality is common in furniture and fixtures of a country design. Often vintage pieces are blended, redesigned, and retrofitted for a modern purpose. The effect can be a charming, often cozy, environment without strict adherence to any rules of design.
Typically color schemes of textiles and paint colors may revolve around white and off-white colors mixed with a muted palate of soft hues. Soft floral patterns, checks, and stripes are common in the vintage textiles that are incorporated into a design for curtains, cushions, and linens. French country designs may include voile fabrics. Rustic elements such as rugged plaster walls, antique furniture, and wrought iron fixtures are typical country design elements that may have an old world look to add interest to a country design.
Often distressed wooden furniture will be whitewashed. Country bathroom vanities may be white or white washed. Repurposing rustic wooden furniture, although common in country designed rooms throughout a home, may not be appropriate for a bathroom. Keep in mind that wood will need to be treated or painted as bathrooms are damp environments that can warp and damage untreated wood.
Incorporating country design elements into existing designs do not need to be expensive or complicated. Paint can add a new look relatively inexpensively. A new wall color or accent color can dramatically change the look of a room. Adding glass knobs to a bathroom vanity, medicine cabinet, or bathroom furniture can provide a country feeling to a bathroom. Antique knobs in clear faceted green glass, opaque glass, or glass in any color can be found as reproduction knobs made to look antique for the same price as modern or contemporary styles.
Many porcelain, bone, or cast iron knobs that are authentic and reclaimed may have stories to tell and can be easily switched out from standard hardware from a vanity or medicine cabinet. Attaching shelves can add storage and country style elements. Shelves can be installed with reclaimed brackets. These installed shelves can hold storage containers made from re-purposed vintage containers and used to hold your toiletries and make up.
Priceless paintings may not be well suited in a bathroom but that isn’t to say that photography or other art cannot be displayed in the bathroom. Collections of plates or framed photographs can be put on the wall to add interest. Any collections of small items can be creatively displayed in a country bathroom.
The challenges of designing a small bathroom may mean that adding large furniture or vanities may not be suitable and out of the question. Instead, let the wall space be your canvas. There is no need to feel limited to painting the walls of small bathrooms, tile can be a very practical surface and can be creativity installed to add country design features. Many modern tiles can be blended and made to look as if they had been there for decades. A mixture of tile can be displayed to mimic a patchwork quilt for a customized look.
If designing or remodeling a bathroom on a budget, a pricier, bolder, or more intricately detailed tile can be used as border around solid colored or inexpensive tile. Changing or adding a vanity may be central to your bathroom design. Country bathroom vanities come in many different styles and sizes to fit the size of any bathroom.
A bathroom needs to have quality furniture that is why we recommend you try kraftmaid vanities as they have a great supply of vanity units that are not only top quality, but also look really good when installed.
Determining the Layout For Your Bathroom Wall Tiles
Assuming that all the wall surfaces are ready for tiling then the next step is to determine how exactly the tiles will be positioned on the walls. Just like preparing the walls this is an essential step if you want the finish to look professional. It is crucial to get the layout right because you want to see the tiles at their best from the main viewing angles of the room i.e. when you enter the door, are lazing in the bath or even sitting on the loo! Narrow sections of tiles that are cut awkwardly in a corner will be an annoying eyesore if you notice them every day.
You need to start by marking horizontal and vertical lines on each wall or wall section which will act as a guide when fixing the wall tiles. The best place for the horizontal starting line is just above the sink and toilet cistern so they do not break the continuous line around the room. But it also important that this line does not then leave a small section of tile above the bath – this will depend very much on the size of the tiles you have chosen.
A good way to get the right height for this line is to divide the height of the bathroom in half, then use that line to mark the position of each tile below the line until you reach the bath. If less than half a tile height is left just above the bath then adjust the starting line up or down until either exactly half a tile or a whole tile will be positioned above the bath edge – don’t forget to take into account the width of the grouting. Once you are happy with the line for the bath you then have to check it for all the other major elements of your bathroom such as the window, sink, toilet etc. to make sure no narrow strips are left in obvious areas. If there is no option but to have some narrow strips somewhere (which is often the case) then try to arrange the layout so that they appear above doors or windows or near the floor i.e. away from normal sightlines. With a bit of trial and error you should be able to establish a good horizontal guide line – now mark it clearly on the wall using a spirit level to make sure it is perfectly straight.
Next, you need to establish your vertical guide line in a similar way. Start by marking a line half-way along the longest wall and, again using your tile width plus the grout joint width, check all corners and edges of your sanitary ware to make sure there are no narrow strips of tile in the most obvious locations. Most rooms and corners are not entirely square so starting tiling from the middle of the wall will create a balanced layout. If you start in one corner and it is not perfectly square then by the time you reach the next corner you risk the tiles looking skewed as the tiles at the top of the room could be wider than at the bottom, or vice versa.
Finally mark vertical centre point lines on all the other walls in the same way and with your wall surfaces well prepared and your layout guide lines marked you are finally ready to start spreading the adhesive and fixing the wall tiles of your choice whether they are ceramic wall tiles, porcelain tiles or one of the variety of natural stone wall tiles. Wetroom bathrooms are a great way to achieve a sense of space and provide a very open feel. Installing a wetroom is becoming an increasingly popular choice as they provide a really convenient way to shower and are suited to those who lead a busy lifestyle and offer really easy access for those who are less mobile.

In a wetroom the water drains away through the floor so you need to check if this is possible in your bathroom and the floor will also need to be raised up and sloping in the direction of the drain.

Wetroom glass panels are available in a range of sizes and they can be installed individually or you can combine two panels to create more of an enclosed showering space. Contractors For Bathroom Renovations
Most homeowners will admit that their bathrooms are in need of improvement. It is typically more exciting for people to decorate living rooms and bedrooms then a place they only spend time in when they have to. The fact of the matter is, if your bathroom was designed with your taste you may feel less need to hurry in and out keeping the door closed. With the help from a contractor you can renovate your bathroom in to a room you will be just as proud of as the rest. With a new, fresh look you will look forward to hopping in to the clean tub and out on to a smooth unused surface.
Contractors have the skill to completely rip out the entire bathroom and start from fresh. Perhaps you have always wanted the toilet and shower on the opposite side of the room. This is the time for you to plan where you would have placed things had you built the home. When laying out a plan for a contractor they can then begin putting your goal in to action.
When dealing with a blank canvas you can have them install what ever bath or shower style you prefer. Traditional bathtubs are going out of style and modern ones are breaking ground. Choose from an elegant free standing tub you only see in magazines or a walk in shower with a built in sauna and bench. It is your renovation, why not get the luxury you want? Shoot for that two seater bathtub that has features similar to a hot tub and look forward to winding down at night.
Renovate your cabinets and storage spaces by deciding on the size, shape, and colors you prefer. Bring more space to the room and put your towel shelf above your toilet and out of the way. Consider a slim vanity for style or a large one for extra storage. Maybe you are tired of free standing cabinets and want a closet built in your new bathroom. Small closets are beneficial for holding towels, laundry, and linens. This is the time to create a new look for your cabinets and add a modern, elegant, or vintage theme to the area.
Choosing the wall color all the way down to the flooring are all parts of the process. Even pick the trim for your walls from materials like wood or stone. Countertops, back splashes, accent walls, and much more are ways they can add your creativity in to the room. Hand pick every last touch of your bathroom renovation and let the contractors handle the rest.

Decorating A Bathroom And Using A Suite
The bathroom and kitchen are two of the most-used rooms in any house or apartment. Not only do residents often visit these rooms, but so do guests. This means that designing a bathroom suite that you love is crucial, since you will be showing it off so often. While many people renovate their kitchens, bathrooms are more likely to languish as they become increasingly outdated. If your bathroom is starting to look a bit worse for wear, then a remodel might be in order. Remodeling the bathroom might seem like a complex, costly task, but buying new furniture and designing the bathroom of your dreams can be fun. New bathrooms also increase a home’s value in case you ever decide to sell your house.
Before starting the remodel, you will need to have a plan. Take into account your taste preferences when designing the layout and style of your new bathroom. Remodels can be as complex as you want them to be. You may choose to rip up everything in your bathroom and start fresh, or simply change a few fixtures and accessories. No matter what, fittings should stay in the same location before and after the remodel. This makes your life easier and saves you money. Before you buy new fixtures and furniture, measure the room completely.
The next step is to pick out your new furniture and sanitary ware. Keep in mind that buying everything as a suite is less expensive than buying individual items. This also means that your bathroom will look stylish with little effort. Bathroom suites are available in several different sizes, shapes, and styles, from Victorian baths to cloakroom suites. There is something on the market for everyone, so if you do not see something you like at first, just keep looking. Contemporary suites will add a minimalist appeal to your bathroom, while a more traditional suite will appear bolder. Try to match the feel of your bathroom with the rest of your house so that the transition is not jarring. Budget will also play a role.
Lastly, you will need to install the bathroom suite and make sure that everything fits correctly. This can be challenging even for dedicated do-it-yourselfers, so hiring a professional is usually the best choice. While expensive, a good plumber will save you time and money in the long run by making sure everything is installed correctly. If you are unsure about the quality of a plumber’s work, ask for references, read reviews online (if available), and proceed with care.
